Tanya Shirley is a Jamaican poet. She was awarded an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland and she has published her work in journals like small axe, The Caribbean Writer, and in New Caribbean Poetry: An Anthology (ed. Kei Miller). She is also a Cave Canem fellow and has participated in Callaloo Creative Writing Workshops. Her collection of poetry is called, She Who Sleeps With Bones, and was named a Jamaican bestseller in 2009.
