Nalo Hopkinson is a Caribbean-born science fiction and fantasy writer and editor who resides in the United States. Her works include: Brown Girl in the Ring (1998), Midnight Robber (2000), Skin Folk (2001), The Salt Roads (2004), The New Moon’s Arms (2007), two edited collections and a number of short fiction pieces. Her latest novel is The Chaos (2012). Her awards include: the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, the Ontario Arts Council Foundation Award for Emerging Writers, and a number of nominations and awards for Brown Girl in the Ring, Midnight Robber, Skin Folk and The Salt Roads. For The New Moon’s Arms, she received the Aurora Award and Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic, making her the only author to receive the latter award twice.
