David Chariandy is a Canadian writer. His debut novel entitled, Soucouyant, published by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2007, was nominated for no less than ten literary prizes and awards. He lives in Vancouver and teaches in the Department of English at Simon Fraser University. He is also the co-founder of Commodore Books, the first and only black literary press in Canada.
