Karen Lord is a Barbadian writer of speculative fiction and academic. She is the author of three novels, The Galaxy Game (2015), The Best of all Possible Worlds (2013), and Redemption in Indigo (2010).  In 2008, she won the Frank Collymore Literary Award for the manuscript of Redemption in Indigo, and again in 2009 for the manuscript of The Best of All Possible Worlds. Her latest release, Redemption in Indigo, has been nominated for a World Fantasy Award, longlisted for the 2011 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, and has won the 2011 William L. Crawford Award and the 2011 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature.
