John Agard is a Guyana-born, Britain based author of adult and children literature.  He has written numerous publications including: Travel Light Travel Dark (2013), The Young Inferno (2009), Clever Backbone (2009), Alternative Poem (2009), and Tiger Dead! Tiger Dead! (2008).   Agard was the recipient of the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, the Cholmondeley Award, the Paul Hamlyn Award for Poetry, and the Casa de las Américas Prize.
