Linton Kwesi Johnson is a Jamaica born UK-based writer and recording artist. He is the author of Selected Poems (2006), Mi Revalueshanary Fren (2002), Tings an’ Times: Selected Poems (1991), Inglan is a Bitch (1991), Dread, Beat An’ Blood (1975) and Voices of the Living and the Dead (1974). He was awarded the English PEN‘s Golden PEN Award in 2012, and the Musgrave Medal in 2005. In 2002, he became the second living poet, and the first black poet, to be published in the Penguin Modern Classics series.
