Courttia Newland is a British, London-based writer, playwright and screen writer. He has published several novels, including The Scholar (1997), Society Within (1999), and Snakeskin (2002), a novella, The Dying Wish: A James and Sinclair Mystery (2006), two collections of short stories, Music for the Off-Key: 12 Macabre Short Stories (2006) and A Book of Blues (2011), and many anthologised short stories. Courttia’s writing has been nominated for various awards such as: the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, the CWA Dagger in the Library Award, and the Alfred Fagon Award. His latest novel, The Gospel According to Cane, was published in 2013.
