Oonya Kempadoo is a Caribbean writer. She has published three novels: Buxton Spice (1998), Tide Running (2001) and All Decent Animals (2013). Oonya won the 2002 Casa De Las Americas prize for Tide Running, was long-listed for the Orange Prize for Buxton Spice, was nominated for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Awards for both of these novels, and was named a “Great Talent for the 21st Century” by the Orange Prize judges.
