Karen Lord is a Barbadian writer and academic. Her first novel, Redemption in Indigo, was published in 2010. In 2008, she won the Frank Collymore Literary Award for the manuscript of Redemption in Indigo and again in 2009 for the manuscript of her upcoming The Best of All Possible Worlds. Redemption in Indigo has been nominated for a World Fantasy Award, longlisted for the 2011 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, and has won the 2011 William L. Crawford Award and the 2011 Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature.
