Rahul Bhattacharya is a writer and cricket journalist. He has published two books: the cricket travelogue, Pundits from Pakistan (2005), which covers the 2004 cricket tour of the Indian cricket team in Pakistan, and the novel, The Sly Company of People Who Care (2011). His novel was a Kirkus fiction Book of the Year, was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize and the Commonwealth Prize, and won the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize 2012 and the Hindu Literary Prize for Best Fiction in 2011.
